Title RF Engineer

Location China (based at Global invacom, Shanghai)

Qualification Good degree or higher in Electronic Engineering

Experience 5 years of relevant design experience in RF/Microwave Design

Global Invacom Ltd (GIL) is a leading volume manufacturer of LNBs, Transmitters, dishes, switches, wireless products and accessories for the satellite TV and VSAT markets worldwide. GIL is developing a large range of new products to complement our already extensive range.

The successful candidates will have good spoken and written English.
Responsibilities

• Working with engineers in the UK to understand the in depth operation of our many RF/Microwave products and the automated test sites that test them
• To provide organisation, training and support to GISH product engineering and debug departments – our aim is to make these departments much slicker and more efficient
• To work with GISH IQC department to:
  a. Ensure meaningful and relevant parameters are being measured
  b. To develop the IQC inspection parameters and criteria on an ongoing basis to improve product quality
• To act as the local Design Authority in Shanghai

· To be involved throughout the full development cycle of GIL new products:
a. Working with the UK designers in the early stages of product development to understand the designs and provide input on function and manufacturability
b. Visiting casting and moulding suppliers at various stages during the development to educate the suppliers in critical requirements and assisting in the tooling/manufacturing process including presence at and assessment of early sample runs of tooling
c. Visiting component suppliers to eradicate issues/technically approve suppliers
d. Responsible for prototype and qualification runs of new GIL products at Radiance. This will include overseeing of trial runs, observation of issues, analysis of measured data and fault finding of problems

· Ongoing monitoring and analysis of measurement data from production test

· Dealing with yield issues and identification and resolution of design problems

· Design, and assistance in the design, of some of the sub-circuits within our products and test sites

We are looking for motivated, innovative individuals with excellent design, communication and teamwork skills combined with good practical and hands-on abilities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an aptitude to develop and refine new skills rapidly and will be a good team player willing to share information with and learn from peers.

The role requires a good level of technical knowledge and understanding combined with a common sense approach. It may involve usage of CAD simulation tools including Ansoft HFSS, Agilent Genesys and ADS, combined with layout of PCB and generation of schematic and other relevant documentation to enable manufacture.

Experience in any of the following areas is desirable:

• LNA/amplifier
• DRO/Oscillator
• PLL
• Power amplifier
• Diode Mixer
• FET mixer
• Coupled line filters
• Lumped element filters/diplexers
• Waveguide
• Appreciation of analogue/digital
• Experience in L-Band, Ku-band or Ka-band
