Application Support

o Design, installation, and support of web and third party software applications.

o Provide planning, design, installation, maintenance, and administration of server infrastructure.

o Assist in troubleshooting of issues by providing diagnostics across the environment through knowledge of: DNS, firewalls, load balancers, application and web servers, network security, Active Directory, and database connectivity.

o Troubleshoot using tools such as MS SCOM, Wireshark, and various debugging tools.

o Manage projects aimed at improving the team's internal processes and actively participate in external project consultations.

o Ensure General Mills infrastructure standards are implemented in a timely manner.

o Lead process improvement initiatives as part of overall Continuous Improvement.

SQL/Database Support

o Troubleshooting, support, and problem resolution.

o Analyzing and recommending patch cycles, configuration initiatives, and lifecycle strategies.

o Proactively monitoring and addressing application database performance issues and database support.

Required Qualifications:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to work with a global support team.

· Bachelor’s degree in CIS (Computer Information Systems), Computer Engineering, Computer Science, MIS (Management Information Systems).

· 4+ years of related work experience in application and infrastructure administration supporting a larger business in a Windows 2008/2012 environment.

· Knowledge of database configuration and maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

· Understanding of firewalls, DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancers (F5 preferred).

· Development languages and automation scripting: .Net development (VB.Net and ASP.Net), Powershell, VBScript/Jscript.

Ability to draw up network diagrams and communicate recommendations to upper mgmt.
