Group Leader, Thermal Systems

Job Description:
? Lead a team of 10-12 people responsible for development and application of tools and technology in the area of heat transfer, thermodynamics, thermo-fluids system dynamic modeling, HVAC/R equipment design and controls.
? Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC/R and energy systems.
? Lead control-oriented thermo-fluid system dynamic modeling, including physics-based model development, model calibration, model validation and analyses.
? Participate as a principal investigator or technical contributor to projects with our program offices or local business units.
? Develop technology and capability roadmaps in partnership with our business unit counterparts.
? Responsible for people development, recruiting, performance assessment, and resource planning for team members.
? Establish collaboration with local universities and centers of excellence.

Qualifications Required:
? MS or PhD degree in Thermo related areas, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Controls Engineering, or other related areas with 5-10 years professional experience, preferably in an applied research environment.
? Experience with vapor-compression refrigeration or power generation systems design and analysis and controls including related components: heat exchangers and compression technologies.
? Heat transfer and two-phase flow expertise and thermodynamic cycle analytical skills.
? Expertise in model development software tools like Dymola, Matlab/Simulink, and equivalent. Proven experience in scientific computing and model-based controls development is a plus.
? Working level experience in project management and demonstrated ability to meet tight quality and delivery metrics is required.
? Experience in leading project teams is a definite advantage.
? Fluent in English and Chinese (both written and spoken) and good communication skills.
? Self-starter who works well in an international teaming environment, is extremely well-organized and has excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
