Brief Description

The Lead Systems Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objective for self and others and have ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use technical expertise to resolve critical IMA platform issues
• Ensure team compliance with essential processes including SAE ARP-4754, DO-297, and GE AVIC internal processes
• Develop and manage tasks to meet cost, schedule, scope, and deliverable goals
• Provide technical leadership and help establish technical direction for the team
• Provide status reports and task metrics on a weekly basis
• Develop and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are achieved
• Establish, modify, and monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources for the team to meet and exceed business objectives and goals
• Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of team activities vertically and horizontally in the organization
  

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years work experience in a technical role)
• Avionics system development, integration and/or verification lab experience
• Solid oral and written communication skills (English required)
• At least 3 additional

Qualifications Desired

• IMA systems experience
• Knowledge of avionics standards such as ARINC 653, ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC 825, and DO-160
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experience
• Strong project management skills
• Strong decision making skills
• Strong ability to engage and build positive relationships with both customers and internal and external employees
