Network Operations Manager/Director
Movoto is an online service enabling home buyers to view properties online and connect with the best real estate agents in the business. As we extend our business, we are looking for a “hands-on” NetworkOperations Manager to buildand managescalableinfrastructure while simultaneously leading and mentoring staff.
The Net Ops Manager will both manage system administrators as well as directly perform some of the work. The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications for planning and managing operations infrastructure, including:
? Experience planning, coordinating and executing scalable, secure and reliable web deployments, preferably on cloud hosting providers such as AWS or Rackspace.
? Ability to communicate clearly with people in the product, engineering and operations department and company leadership.
? Experience with deploying, updating, tuning and troubleshooting custom services in a service-oriented architecture.
? Ability to provide technical leadership and management to a team of peers.
? Expertise in forecasting resource requirements and cost analysis for large deployments.
? Experience automating configuration, administration, monitoring, and backup of web service deployments, using tools such as OpenStack, chef, puppet, Splunk, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.
The position will have the following responsibilities:
? Directly managing a small number of system administrators, including career development, technical direction and task organization/execution.
? Working with product management and software engineering teams to understand performance and availability requirements.
? Working with engineering to understand service architecture, and to define monitoring, packaging, testing and/or deployment requirements for engineering.
? Developing detailed requirements and cost-analysis for projected resource requirements.
? Establishing deployment, configuration change and rollback processes for releases and updates.
? Planning, building, configuring, optimizing and scaling a physical and cloud-based server farm responsible for supporting Movoto’s Internet properties.
? Leading troubleshooting efforts with production/non-production systems, interfacing with development teams as necessary and participating (as required) as an integral part of web/mobile development teams.
? Overseeingserver configuration changes, release management, performance tuning, capacity planning, automation, etc.
? Participating as part of a 24x7 on call rotation.
