职位描述

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary purpose for this role is to bring new products to market and support existing products throught the product life cycle. This position oversees the product development efforts of a product group(s) within the Engineering department starting from product definition and resulting in economical, marketable products. The Group Leader shall manage various levels of engineering personnel and may include leading Engineering and/or cross-functional development team. Responsibilities of this position include the management of multiple mechanical/ electrical engineering assignments and their accurate and timely completion including weekly status reporting on active and inactive engineering projects. Activities may include complete new product development or redesign/enhancement of existing components and products. In order to optimize the productivity and efficiency of available resources, Engineers at The Siemon Company are expected to apply the principles of Concurrent Engineering and ISO.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline

· 8+ years in an engineering or product development environment; preferably two of these years in a supervisory or leading capacity

· Strong project management experience

· Strong written and verbal English communication skills

· Experience designing sheet metal and molded components

· A track record of designing innovative and reliable products

· Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing knowledge

· Manage multiple projects and deliver product on time and within budget

· Methodical, organized and detail orientated work habits

· Strong leadership and judgment skills

· Exhibits drive, initiative and follow-up for timely completion of projects or activities

· Ability to coordinate and interact with others from both inside and outside the company in a leadership and mentor capacity


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? Solidworks experience

? FEA experience

? MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project experience

? Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience (Oracle prefered)

? PMI PMP certification


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Supervise engineering personnel to maximize their productivity and ensure that they consistently perform their required duties and responsibilities. Develop new and revised products in an efficient manner that stresses time to market, innovation, quality, manufacturability and cost effectiveness as tracked on the engineering status sheets emphasizing use of Product Specifications where applicable.

  1. Lead and project manage product development projects from project conception to product launch. Projects may involve new designs manufactured in house or sourcing existing products from suppliers.
  2. Design and/or source new and revised products in an efficient manner that stresses on-time delivery, innovation, quality, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
  3. Perform detailed mechanical design work as required.
  4. Lead programs consisting of multiple NPD projects that will comprise a system.
  5. Gather and communicate technical information as required to support project work and internal customers. This may involve working with people in distant geographical locations.
  6. Interact with internal and external customers in a professional and cooperative manner to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
  7. Goal oriented management of multiple tasks with a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  8. Other functions as required to support product development. This may include items such as contributing to a marketing specification, writing a receiving inspection plan, reviewing assembly instructions, overseeing changes to our ERP data, etc.
  9. Timely and regular status reporting.
  10. Comply with all of the Company's employee safety expectations and standards. Identify and bring forward safety risks or problems, make suggestions to improve safety, and assure that each other works safely.
  11. Performs all other duties as assigned.
