Job Description
As a Systems Engineer within the Personal Systems Product Development group at Micron Technology Inc., you are responsible for taking solid state drives from design to high volume manufacturing. This will involve firmware test and validation, product characterization, manufacturing support, customer support, generating training documentation, developing Project Schedules, and representing Systems Engineering on cross-functional Product Development teams. You will also be responsible for improving performance, improving testability, and identifying drive, PCBA and component (NAND, DRAM, etc) reliability issues. Other areas of responsibility include electrical and physical failure analysis, implementation of new device qualifications, characterization development, and yield evaluation/improvement.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Perform Test Development/Analysis
Develop and design test plans/scripts to evaluate new product features
Coordinate test and validation of all specifications in the Product Technical Specification Matrix.
Validate specifications across spec ranges of Power, Voltage and Temperature (PVT testing)
Identify and/or develop test tools to enable failure analysis and improve testability
Maintain a working knowledge of all SSD components and interconnection requirements to enable margin analysis in SI, Voltage, Clock Speeds, and temperature. Utilize this knowledge to construct and execute test plans to validate known or new system parameters.
Update/maintain the TSM in concert with the program DE Lead
Perform Product Test and Failure Analysis
Perform Product Test/Characterization to evaluate and support new product development
Analyze failures to determine root cause of issues
Drive issues to closure by interfacing/collaborating with other product development teams
Contributing member of new product architecture teams to provide analysis and response to the Market requirements of a specific product.
Advocate for and participate in all Design Reviews and FMEAs

Support Internal/External Customers
Provide technical support (e.g. failure analysis, questions, etc.) to any internal or external customer as part of product development
Support customer and internal audits
Develop and perform training classes/presentations
Project Management
Represent Systems Engineering on cross-functional Product Development teams
Provide input into and/or develop Project Development Schedules, Plans, etc.
Communicate project status clearly and regularly

Safety and Procedure
Follow established policies and procedures
Recognize and resolve safety or environmental issues, including assistance to develop appropriate procedures and documentation
Use available resources to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner
