- Aqua Arts Foundation is a non-profit platform for contemporary art, working in partnership with Vantage Magazine. As a part of Vantage’s ongoing involvement with artists, collectors and galleries, Aqua Arts Foundation supports art projects by publishing articles, interviews and installation projects on our website and in Vantage Magazine.
-Vantage is a bimonthly magazine, published in both English and Chinese with a focus on contemporary culture- including art, fashion, travel, architecture, and technology. Intelligent, forward thinking and original are three words that best describe us.
- Aqua Arts Foundation is building a private collection of contemporary art works, which will grow over the years to represent the culmination of our involvement in China’s exciting and dynamic contemporary art scene. These art works are primarily donated by Artist’s which the foundation supports.
- In the future, the Aqua Art Foundation intends to set up an artist residency for foreign artists who wish to come and spend some time living in Shanghai, and creating art in this city.
Responsibilities:
- To represent and build the reputation of the Aqua Art Foundation within Shanghai, building connections with artists, galleries, museums and other art institutions.
- To ‘discover’ talented new chinese artists. To encourage them to donate work to the Foundation, in return for promotion and publicity through Vantage Magazine.
- In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for working with other members of the Vantage team to upload original art editorial content to the Aqua Arts Foundation website, which will be synchronized with the Vantage Website.
Skills:
- The successful candidate must be very familiar with China’s contemporary art scene, and must have experience working with artists, galleries, museums private collections or other art institutions. Ideally they will have an education background in Art History, Fine Art, Media or Journalism.
- This role requires strong networking skills. The successful candidate will be confident in approaching artists, collectors and art professionals in order to partner and organize media co-operations, installations and other ventures with the Foundation and Vantage Magazine.
- The successful candidate should have some experience with writing editorial content, including a strong eye for details and excellent command of written language. Fluent Chinese and English are both required.
- The successful candidate should also have some experience with managing a website, including uploading content, and editing photos and text.
