Schedule, set-up, and perform routine assays according to established protocols.
o Review protocol and set-up assays according to priority level.
o Determine biochemicals and quantities needed.
o Select and prepare appropriate equipment and/or instrumentation.
o Perform procedure independently and accurately according to an established protocol.
o Complete the volume of work required to achieve departmental goals and meet the established deadlines.

?Document and communicate status of assays and results.
o Interpret results accurately.
o Communicate any aberrant observations with assay or assay results. Decide (with a manager or designee) if adjustments are necessary.
o Prepare accurate, complete, and legible records in accordance with established procedures.
o Maintain procedures up-to-date by making appropriate changes in written protocols when needed as established by manager or designee.

?Contribute to the support functions of the laboratory.
o Ensure lab supplies are adequately stocked.
o Prepare testing reagents (e.g. buffers, gels, standards, etc.) as needed.
o Maintain (clean, calibrate, etc.) equipment. Properly document and notify appropriate individuals if calibration is overdue.
o Maintain a clean work area and properly dispose of waste.
o Perform other group responsibilities thoroughly and on time.


?Quality Expectations
o Ensure worksheets and other quality documents accurately reflect current procedure. Document procedures with appropriate technical detail in writing as directed by manager.
o Notify manager of any deviation from current procedure.
o Utilize system of quality documents for recording maintenance, calibration and usage of equipment and instruments as directed by manager.
o Properly label chemicals and reagents with all needed quality documentation.
o Participate as needed in quality audits including preparation of responses to questions.
o Successfully complete required quality training.

Education: Required 2 years college in the Life or Physical Sciences or equivalent relevant experience
Required 1 years quality control or analytical laboratory program
