Title: Hostess
Department: Food and beverage areas of The Social
Main function: Operation and control of the F&B Department
Reports to: Executive Chef/Restaurant Manager/Bar Manager/ Sales and customer associate
Subordinates: Sous Chefs, Cost Controller, HR
Overall Summary:
The restaurant hostess is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant. It is the job of the hostess to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess.
Practices strong telephone and guest service etiquette.Primarily responsible for operating computerized cash register to itemize and total customer's purchases. Reviews price sheets to note price changes in sale items. Records prices and departments, subtotals taxable items, and totals purchases on cash register. Collects cash, check, or electronic payments from customer and makes change for transactions
This is a regular, full-time position, requiring the ability to work weekends and holidays, as well as flexibility in scheduling to ensure business-staffing needs are met.
