Overall Purpose of Job

? The AME Manufacturing Engineer OSS is part of the AME Dept. The Primary roles are
o Planning capacity and tooling investment and assisting in new product launches at TRW sites
o To support customer quotation processes and continuous improvement initiative

Major Responsibilities
List the major responsibilities and accountabilities of this position. Include quantifiable data where appropriate (i.e. budget dollars, etc.)

? Provide manufacturing expertise in the OSS product group in support of the business planning cycle, manage the development of regional capacities and perform capital expenditure planning as inputs into the development of the business operational plan (OP) and strategic plan (SP).
? Actively manage regional capacities and utilization during the OP and SP periods
? Develop cooperation with the manufacturing unit’s capital plans and obtain the necessary approvals of CEA’s. Validate requests against SP &OP plans and monitor expenditure to ensure the best in class investment, productivity, and quality standards are achieved.
? Benchmarking manufacturing processes, equipment and equipment suppliers against other regional operations and industry standards
? Assist with the transfer of technology from other regions, participate in the mother plant support activity



? Provide AME input into the business case preparation, data to include manufacturing location, and capacity utilization, new and allocated capital, equipment profile and cycle times, manning (direct and indirect), floor space, support and training requirements along the necessary budgets.
? Advise and assist with the procurement of equipment and tools which meet corporate and customer quality and financial requirements.
? Participate and promote cost reductions, continuous improvement activities, Health and Safety awareness, and adherence to QS-9000 Systems
? Provide a central resource of product line expertise in the OSS product group to the manufacturing units, providing day to day technical support as required
? Assist with the development of process documentation such as process flow chards, PFMEA, Control Plan etc within the manufacturing units as required.
? Support new product introduction, provide assistance with internal preparation of manufacturing equipment within manufacturing units as required
? Halt any activity which may endanger someone’s safety, cause an environmental accident, or produce defective product and bring these activities to the attention of the TRW Management,
? Ensure that the Quality Systems in accordance to the QS9000 standards is adhered to and implemented at all times.
? This document covers the main responsibilities of this position; however there should be recognition that as the needs of the business change, there may be requirements to take on additional roles outside of those listed above. If those roles are determined to be more than a short term issue then this job description will be amended accordingly.

Education: Bachelor degree or above with Automotive Engineering

Language:

Experience: 1-5 years experience in Automotive Plant
