Sr. Engineer (Transport 7100 Validation)
Job Description:
Work within a team of test engineers that develop and execute requirements-driven test cases designed for system-level validation of the 7100 DWDM Optical Transport System. Responsibilities include the following:
- Setup of the test environment, design, coding, debugging and execution of manual test scripts in a new product development environment.
- Develop Test Plans that are formally reviewed and implemented.
- Report project status and document product defects discovered. Validate fixes of product defects when they are delivered from the Development team.
- Must be self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision within a team environment. Report into an Engineering Manager located in Shanghai China.
Requirements:
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years experience within the Telecommunications Industry
- Testing and validation experience with network equipment utilizing SDH, SONET and Gigabit Ethernet. Knowledge of Packet-based protocols a plus.
- GUI-based element management system test and validation.
- Experience designing, debugging and executing test cases. Experience with automated testing a plus.
Skills / Knowledge Desired
- Control Plane Management experience highly desirable
- Software test and/or development background in C++ and/or tcl/tk
- Experience with IBM/Rational and/or Mercury/HP test tools
- Working knowledge of UNIX environments
- Working knowledge of PC environments
- Very good English communication skills in both verbal and written formats are a must.
