PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. ARTWORK RESEARCH

• Shops market, raw materials and garment industry, related industries and local trade shows overseas to research innovation direction in prints and yarn-dyes as directed by HQ Artwork Engineer
• Supports research in new technologies in artwork to drive innovation, quality, speed and efficiency
• Provides timely flow of innovation and market intelligence in support of Artwork development process

2. ARTWORK DEVELOPMENT

• Works closely with HQ Artwork Engineer to identify what types of artwork should be developed by fabric supplier
• Communicates artwork development needs to suppliers in R&D phase
• Works closely with Fabric Suppliers to ensure execution and viability of artwork development, providing expertise to trouble shoot and problem solve, as needed, with guidance from HQ Artwork Engineer
• Provides technical expertise to HQ, offices and suppliers in achieving aesthetic, quality and costing parameters for artwork development.
• Evaluates artwork technical execution and color registration against packet requests as needed to support PD&D process

3. FABRIC SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

• Builds understanding of Fabric Supplier capabilities in fabric and artwork research and development
• Collaborates in recommending supplier utilization as it relates to fabric and artwork development based on capabilities and supplier alignments
• Assists in preparing training materials for Supplier elevation in the artwork of artwork development.
• Executes supplier elevation in the area of artwork including execution of Artwork Technician Certification Training

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· 4 year degree/diploma in Textiles Engineering

· Fluent in English communication - verbal and written

· Sensitivity to color - pass Munsell 100 hue test with grading 0-16 superior

· 3 years experience in textile dyeing/printing/finishing

· Proficient in development of all types of printing methods and techniques, strikeoff process, yarn-dye methods for wovens and knits, and handloom process

· Experience with both Design and Mill/Vendor development for artwork

· Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities

· Organizational and strategic skills

· Excellent writing and oral communication skills
