EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

SUMMARY

With editor-in-chief, set overall tone for publication and represent magazine to the public. Under limited supervision, contribute to positioning Semiconductor Manufacturing -China as the publication of record for the "business of semiconductor manufacturing and technology deployment". Plan coverage, write stories, edit, and manage all phases of edit production on the business and financial conditions of the semiconductor capital equipment and materials industry and its supply chain and end-user markets. This position balances writing and reporting with managing various magazine projects and freelance contributions, in print and online. Person should be known in industry, must be able to represent magazine effectively to readers, advertisers, and interviewees, and must be able to run the magazine when EIC is out of office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Helps develop and manage editorial content for publication in support of editor-in-chief. Writes and oversees/edits articles on the business and financial conditions of the semiconductor capital equipment and materials industry, as well as of the sectors in the supply chain in which the industry participates, including the semiconductor device segment and its end markets. Solicits editorial copy and photographs or other graphics. Edits and proofreads as needed. Develops story ideas for other contributing writers and solicits articles.

2.Develops, maintains and builds relationships with equity research and securities analysts; company executives; authors; and business consultants, strategists, experts and service providers. Aforementioned would comprise both sources and/or freelance contributors. As a key representative of Semiconductor Manufacturing -China, attends industry events including, but not limited to SEMICON expositions, press conferences and company seminars.

3.Contributes to overall strategic planning and execution of editorial features and long-term growth and development of Semiconductor Manufacturing -China and other SEMI publications, as they develop. Contributes to sales, marketing and PR activities for the publication as needed.

Other Requirements:

Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.

Must have excellent writing skills and familiarity with AP style guide.

Must have excellent grammar and proofreading skills.

Must have ability to interview and interface with industry executives, analysts, and freelance writers on a professional level.
