Job Description
This role is part of the core development team that focuses on the back-end development using .NET 4 and SQL Server 2005/8. The team is focused across a number of key technologies including BlueArc's flagship content management system IgnitionSuite as well as the industry leading Sitecore CMS.
You will be working on building and delivering exciting new functionality in areas such as content management, e-commerce, search, social networking, and business workflow. You will be exposed to new technologies and be expected to champion their uptake within the team.
We are looking for people who are passionate about software development, who love a challenge, and can work well on their own as well as part of a larger team. For this senior role, there is plenty of scope to get involved in designing and architecting solutions plus mentoring and leading a team of developers.
Basic Requirements
> Computer science degree or related disciplines
> Minimum of 3 years software development experience
> Good English communication skills; written and oral
Key Skills
> Strong .NET 3.5 coding skills (experience with .NET 4.0 is desirable but not essential)
> Commercial experience of hands-on development for the latest .NET technologies including ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#.NET, Web Services, WCF, WPF, WF and AJAX
> Strong Microsoft SQL Server coding skills - Transact-SQL, stored procedure
> Solid specification and system design skills
> Ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously, handle pressure and work with minimum supervision
> Innovative and pro-active approaches to solutions
> Good understanding of content management systems
> Good understanding and application of QA practices
> Good understanding of software development lifecycle
You would also benefit from any of the following
> Microsoft certified professional (MCP, MCAD, MCSD)
> Familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
> Good specification and design skills
> Experience of anyContent Management Systems
> Exposure to search engine technologies
> Exposure to Microsoft CRM and/or SharePoint
> Experience of Windows networking and security
