Description
For our Global Content Department we are currently looking for a Chinese Language Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the quality of the Booking.com website in your language. Besides having a strong commercial feel and being passionate about language and translations, as a Language Specialist you would have to find ways to maintain and continuously improve the quality of the website, and to take action accordingly in order to provide our customers with a product at the highest standard of quality, in every language.
Responsibilities
? Creating strong commercial, localized website for Chinese customers
? Quality management of the Booking.com website for the Chinese language including conducting website quality checks, proofreading freelance translations of hotel descriptions and maintaining language specific tools, such as glossaries and style guides
? Providing translations for the navigational copies of the website as well as Newsletters
? Freelance support, such as evaluating the quality of translations for candidates, quality monitoring of the freelance translations, providing freelancers with consistent feed-back
Requirements
? University degree or equivalent in a relevant field
? Native Chinese
? Strong linguistic skills in English
? Experience in translations and writing of commercial, localized web copy
? Computer skills: proficient using word processors and spread sheets, familiar with Computer Assisted Translations tools
? Strong communication, coordinating and analytical competencies
? The ability to work both independently and in a team, to work in a pro-active manner with a strong focus on quality and the customer
? Background of e-commerce, hotel/hospitality marketing is a plus
