General purpose of position:

-The Process Engineer will be part of a team responsible for carrying out experiments and producing test results of processes for solar and electronics applications using BTU thermal equipment. He/she will develop process specifications and assist in equipment design for improved process and product performance. He/she will perform applications tests and experiments to support marketing, sales and engineering. In addition, they will participate in customer demonstrations, trade shows, and industry organizations.

Description of duties and responsibilities:

-Participate in customer process trials and demonstrations of BTU products

-Optimization and characterization of existing solar processes including diffusion, annealing, and metallization for crystalline silicon cells

-Characterization of BTU equipment for solar and electronics applications

-Ensure that the BTU Applications Laboratory & equipment is maintained.

-Support the writing and publication of technical articles

-Participate in industry organizations and trade shows as required

Skills and abilities needed for this position:

-2-6 years experience in process engineering/development in the solar or semiconductor industry

-Demonstrated knowledge of experimental design and statistical methods

-Experience with chemical laboratory procedures

-Excellent written and oral communication skills

-Thick film or thin film process experience desirable

Education and training needed for this position:

-BS degree in chemical engineering, materials engineering, chemistry or equivalent
