General purpose of position:

- BTU has an exciting opportunity for a Process Technician to join its growing Solar Applications Lab. The Process Technician will be responsible for managing daily lab operations, keeping lab supply inventory, maintaining lab process equipment and metrology tools, assisting process engineers carrying out experiments and producing test results of state-of-the-art processes for solar applications using BTU thermal equipment. The objective is to maintain a world-class lab facility.

Description of duties and responsibilities:

- Main responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following areas:

- Maintain lab facility and utility (electricity, gas supply, water supply, keeping a clean-look of the lab)

- Book-keep and purchase inventory of all lab supplies

- Ensure all lab furniture, lab tools, instruments, and equipment are well organized and stored

- Run routine process and metrology SPC qualifications

- Keep a running documentation of lab operation and maintenance

- Work with service team and perform basic trouble-shooting of process or metrology tool electrical, mechanical, and software issues

- Assist lab process engineers with process experiments in BTU core equipment, diffusion, paste printing, and metallization

- Prepare the lab for customer visits

- Take care of miscellaneous lab activities so that process engineers can focus more on critical experimental planning and execution.

Skills and abilities needed for this position:

- 2-5 years experience in facility work and thermal process equipment testing, preferably for solar, semiconductor, PCB surface mount, or display applications.

- Good habit of maintaining a clean lab environment. Experience with chemical laboratory procedures.

- Self-directed and excellent book-keeping and organizational skills.

Education and training needed for this position:

- Education and training with a technical degree.
