Job title: Senior Merchandise
Report to: General Merchandise Manager
Reporting functions: Merchandisers
Purpose of the Job
- To drive and manage the responsible local merchandising activities and Supplier Performance in achieving Company's goals and objectives
- To provide senior support and guidance to the local merchandising team to be the High Performing team
Responsibilities
1. Merchandising Management
- Provide good representation of the Company Policy, Codes of Practice and General Delivery Instruction to both internal and external contacts.
- Responsible for the merchandising activities for a business unit or several product areas.
- Supervise a team of Senior Merchandisers/Merchandisers in order to monitor overall order tracking and forecast delays.
- Interact and communicate with Quality Assurance (e.g. Technicians/Fabric Technologists) on all quality issues.
- Co-ordinate customers/suppliers visits and deploys resources accordingly.
- Pre-production and production management.
- Coordinate suppliers' production capacity booking.
- Supplier performance management.
- Guide, Train and Develop subordinates in the assigned product area.
2. Order Commitment and Post Commitment Management
- Is responsible and has approval authority for lab testing of merchandise
-Is responsible and has approval authority for Reference sample development and validation
- Is responsible and has approval authority for pre-/production management including approval timeline coordination, order/fabric tracking and deviation management
Requirements
- Bachelor degree majoring in textile engineering, clothing engineering and fashion design etc.
- Over 15 years experience in apparel merchandising field and 5+ years in managerial level.
- Overseas education or working experience preferred
- Experience of managing 10-15 people preferred.
- Experience of building up new team of 15+ headcount is preferred.
- Aggressive, strong fashion sense
- Capability to build and manage relationship with strategic suppliers in Latin America.
- Excellent English
