Overall Purpose of Job:

Major Responsibilities:

· Primary responsibility is to ensure PFMEA review process planning and implementation to meet customer/TRW requirement

· Lead for PFMEA audit for new launches and exist programs, support AME/ME/ Engineering to conduct PFMEA Workshop to pursue robust PFMEA and Control Plan

· Has responsibility for verifying customer critical and significant characteristics matrix will be fulfilled and meet customer specification requirements;

· Ensure that the customer tools, methods and requirements will be applied properly and reports on regular basis to his management and also to internal / external customers as the interfaces with Project Managers, Quality Managers (customer and internal), Purchasing and etc.

· Support on customer initial audit in plants

· Support the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) steps within the TRW Automotive Global Development Product Introduction Method (GDPIM) are carried out in a manner, which will ensure new product launch quality on core and application development programs. The product development quality engineer is to be the product development team’s problem solving, metrology and special characteristics resource. A broad knowledge of quality assurance with specific expertise in product, process and or quality engineering is required.

· Support the core development and program/project application management teams in executing to the GDPIM requirements and delivering a design which is optimized to the customer’s requirements.

· Assists program management in providing product application engineers with lessons learned from current production and or customer issues

· Reviews on DV/PV (Design Validation/Product Validation) of key programs for quality, act as Quality gate during APQP GDPIM process

· Maintains APQP status report to Quality management

Key Competencies:

· New product launch APQP quality experience;

· Familiar with AIAG books, especially for PFMEA criteria and review process

· Familiar with customer requirement and process;

· Program / Project management knowledge and ability, experience are preferred;

· TS16949 automotive industry Quality system knowledge and experience

· Problem solving skills, such 8D, 5WHY, six sigma, Shainin, …preferred

· Product, process, quality engineering background

· Excellent teamwork, cross functional working experience and communication skill

· Good working attitude and ability to work at pressure

· Positive thinking / working style

· frequent travels are required

Education and Experience:

Educational: Bachelor or Master Degree in process/ product engineering, industry automatic control … engineering background

Experience: 1. Minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing/engineering /quality function in automotive industry;

2. Minimum 5 years customer quality management & project management working experience in International Automotive industry;

3. Product, process or quality engineering experience & expertise required

4. Statistical methods on D/PFMEA, GR&R, SPC, DOE,…with six-sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, Master Black Belt,… desired.

5. Basic product reliability, testing and product validation experience
