Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of automotive electrical hardware and software design and implementation tradeoffs to lead the project management activities. The ideal candidate should have the ability to creatively identify and design functional components based on analysis of customer requirements. The candidate should have ability to design creative solutions by optimizing hardware and software subsystems as well as design comprehensive test and verification plans for specific functions. This position requires a functional understanding of embedded control systems.

Job Description:

? Act as liaison between OEM customers, Dura’s mechanical product groups and the Electronics Development Group
? Interpret and analyze system and customer specifications to determine impact on the functional design content of the electrical system.
? Develop and document functional and diagnostic requirements.
? Work with hardware and software engineers to allocate requirements to hardware and software elements.
? Create and maintain functional and diagnostic test plans.
? Implement functional and diagnostic tests.
? Participate in hardware and software design peer review activities.
? Support DFMEA activities and design reviews.
? Support application specific hazard analysis and safety plan development.
? Support Product Development activities as required.
? Support Test Equipment Development activities as required.
? Create and maintain program timing plans to meet customer deadlines
? Document and track open issues
Job Requirements:
? Experience with 8-bit and 16-bit microcontrollers
? Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
? Familiarity with basic tools that apply to CAN networks
? Functional understanding of C programming language
? ISO 26262 - Road Vehicles - Functional Safety Development Process experience
? Advanced Product Quality Planning Experience
? LabVIEW experience
? Knowledge of basic digital and analog embedded electronics
? Ability to work in a team environment
? Proficient written and verbal communication skills
? Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Bachelor – Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering Technology/Computer Engineering
Master – Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering
