Web Developer

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under direction of the Manager of Software Development, the Web Developer participates in the detailed design, construction, implementation, and support of web projects that meet established specifications, design criteria, quality standards and business requirements with minimum supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

· Designs and maintains content, user interface, and graphic features for Corporation’s websites and web-based applications.

· Produces graphics for the websites, as well as online-based creative marketing materials such as email campaigns and banner ads.

· Builds navigational structures, information maps, and working prototypes to fulfill functional and user requirements for web-based content and applications.

· Collaborates with Software Engineers and Product Managers to define the user experience strategy, spearhead a user-centered design process, and develop useable, useful and compelling website experiences.

· Participates in the definition and documentation of style guides, design principles, and UI concepts.

· Makes recommendations to improve operating efficiency and functionality of assigned systems areas.

· Provides regular status reports to all levels of Management.

· Follows established code guidelines and best practices.

· Reviews and analyzes the web environment to make recommendations for improvements and/or upgrades.

· Assesses technology risk, potential severity, probability and strategy.

• Maintains a high degree of knowledge on current technologies and tools.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures concerning all confidential information including but not limited to internal use and restricted information, including Protected Consumer Information (PCI) and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Adheres to all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Administers duties as defined by the Corporation performance review plan within the required deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED

• 3+ years of professional experience designing dynamic websites.
• Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, Javascript, IIS, XML, and cross-browser compatibility related issues.
• Strong understanding of web design concepts – usability, page layout, and navigational structures.
• Hands-on experience creating, modifying, and optimizing web page graphics and layouts.
• Experience developing and maintaining Flash applications.
• Experience using Adobe Photoshop.
• Working knowledge of Illustrator is also desired.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with technical, business, and management staff.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal and external clients.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables in a highly energized and fast-paced environment within a framework of constantly shifting deadlines and deliverables.
• Flexibility to adapt to change and willing to learn and develop new skill sets as applicable.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED (all of these would be pluses, but none is absolutely required)

• Experience working in an IT development environment based on the Microsoft .NET framework.
• Experience working with high availability websites using ASP.Net MVC
• Experience working on websites with SEO and web analytics integration.
• Experience working on websites with CMS integration and A/B/n Testing.
• Knowledge of the Spanish language is a plus.
