Position: Inspector
Reports to: General Manager
Position summary:
To ensure that fabricators construct evaporator pressure vessels, dryer chambers, ducts and pipes in accordance with Dedert design criteria, manufacturing standards and specified dimensions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
？ Act as a liaison between Dedert and fabrication personnel.
？ Inspect fabricated components, vapor ducts and/or circulation pipes to see that product is constructed according to drawings. Check dimensions and overall construction to ensure proper fit-up and performance.
？ After inspection, report corrective measures needed from the fabricator prior to release to final customer.
？ Review as-built drawings against inspection copy of fabrication drawings to ensure accuracy.
？ Business travel required (about 50%).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
？ Bachelor degree in Machining, Welding or Mechanical Engineering.
？ Three (3) years of related work experience.
？ Fluent verbal and written communications skills in Chinese and English.
？ Understand basics of vessel design and function to better determine corrective action needed.
？ Ability to use a variety of tools to accurately measure vessels and associated components.
？ Ability to assess acceptability of welds.
？ Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and AutoCAD applications.
？ Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to foster understanding among all people involved and promote a team concept.
？ Knowledge of GB and ASME codes.
On-the-Job Training
？ Dedert supports the employee in obtaining technical training at Dedert in USA or a university in China if needed.
