Objectives

Roles

1) Conduct polymerization to prepare an appropriate lab samples for R&D projects.

2) Create a lab batch card through technical discussion with lab supervisor / Manager R&D. Confirm that the lab samples fulfil the specification and deliver to the internal / external customers in time. Ensure that relevant data as well as observations are recorded of each batch card.

3) Maintain the lab reactors and all other lab facilities in good condition by pre-scheduled periodical maintenance.

4) Review and update the lab rules for handle, store and dispose chemicals with comply to BASF safety regulations.

Responsibilities

1) Responsible for the activities in the lab: Create batch cards, Planning & Operation of lab reactors to maximum utilization ratio, ensure that raw materials and required documents (MSDS and PI) are in place.

2) Deliver requested results as polymer samples, act according given working procdures, report on results of lab samples.

3) Keep material cost on low level, inventory of raw materials and other lab consumtion

4) Show responsibility for the lab equipment being used, take care to minimize maintenance cost by good housekeeping and appropriate cleaning procedures, handle equipment according manual. Find a problem of the assigned facilities, and report to senior technicians. Proper handling, storing and disposing of expired raw materials and lab samples

5) Safe operation in lab

Main Tasks

1) Support lab work for R&D projects.

2) Check lab batch card and prepare raw materials in time

3) Operation of 2-3 lab reactors per day, ensure consistent and good quality of work, report to Lab Supervisor / manager R&D.

4) Conduction physical deodorization, if required

5) Deliver lab samples to other parties (application lab or customers) and keep records

6) Cleaning & Housekeeping in lab

7) Periodical maintenance. Report to supervisor, planning & execution of repair if needed.

8) Order of raw materials. Review labeling for chemicals (printed label & hazard symbol) & MSDS with lab colleagues.

9) Facilitate 5 min safety talk, ensure work safely, update lab procedures for safe operations

Requirements

1. Education: College degree in Chemistry

2. Working experience: minimum 3 years in polymerization or equivalent industrial experience

3. Technical & professional knowledge: Operate and maintain equipment; Understand basic English; Operate Microsoft Office
