Position Description:

The Science team was created in 2011 with a mission to partner with AIG’s business units to shape the strategy based on data driven decision making. The team blends creative thinking with world class analytical methodologies to achieve sustainable competitive advantage for AIG. We currently have a global team based in New York City, Tokyo and London. This newly created position, based in Shanghai, will further support AIG’s growth in China, Asia Pacific region and globally.

As an Analyst with the Science team, your goal is to solve complex business problems and develop strategies that drive growth and profitability. You will analyze complex information and data and enable insights into customer behavior, marketing strategy, pricing, risk management and operational efficiency. You will learn and apply cutting edge analytical methodologies relevant in a world increasingly dominated by big data.

Responsibilities may include: performing detailed data, statistical, or financial analyses; collaborating with business partners and managing high impact projects; and creating compelling communications to influence strategic decisions.

Position Requirements:

Required

? Minimum grade point average of 3.2 (unofficial transcript required upon application)

? Graduation date between December 2013 – December 2014, or 0-1 years’ work experience

? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an quantitative discipline, preferably economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or engineering

Preferred

? Programming experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, STATS

? Alternatively, programming experience with C, C++, Python, MATLAB or similar programs

? Good understanding of statistics and previous exposure to regression techniques
