Responsibilities: The Technical Assistant (TA) will be involved in collecting, reviewing and summarizing all types of environmental programs and reports (hydrology, ecology and biodiversity) creating a data base and managing projects within the People’s Republic of China for Kevin Erwin’s Studio of Ecological Restoration.

Job Description: Must have a basic understanding of ecological restoration, creation and management. Will carry out the review of environmental reports; analyze and interpret data, carry out background research and present findings, producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations. Will draft reports and will liaise with and advise site managers, engineers, planners and government officials. Must have the ability to build relationships with stakeholders; including the public, government agencies, NGOs and the private sector. Must remain current with new environmental policies and liaise with collaborators, suppliers and office staff while carrying out specific directed projects and research.

Qualifications:
Professional Background: Ecology, Conservation Biology or Ecological Engineering
Education background: MS or above in wetlands ecology, biology, earth science or other related disciplines.
Must have excellent proficiency in English (verbal and writing) – no exceptions please. Some proficiency in Chinese is an advantage. Ecological Society of America certification is an advantage.
Work experience: Eight-year minimum in a related field. Experience will be stressed over a degree. Should be familiar with the landscape ecology and biodiversity of PR China. On-site working experience in science and management capacity in China is an advantage. Must possess excellent writing and oral communication skills. Should understand landscape analysis strategies and be able to employ a range of habitat and hydrological monitoring survey techniques, such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS). , Global Positioning Systems (GPS), aerial photography, remote sensing, records and maps.
