Job Description
- As a product development engineer, you will play key role in developing a new product which is in the size of iPod or iPhone. The product is composed of various metal and plastic components with moving parts inside of it
- You will participate in overall product design.
- You will be responsible for all components sourcing and manufacturing which includes plastic and metal material selection; structure design and manufacturing processes selections.
- You need to make mechanical drawings, and prepare product and component specs.
- You will also need to design test schemes (both performance and reliability) for incoming components and products
- You will focus on performance, reliability and cost of the product
Candidate Requirement
Educational Background and/or Previous Work Experience
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related physical science majors
- 3-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and processes, especially small plastic and metal part formation and their assembly.
- Experiences in electronic devices, medical devices, phone, Ebook, and various consumer products are desirable.
- You are very familiar with various metal formation including cutting, molding, CNC, etc, and their tolerance and costs
- Hands-on experience on mechanical drawing and direct experience in assembling mechanical components
- Some knowledge on magnetics and aerodynamics and their modeling is desirable.
Soft Skills
- Good Team player
- Excellent communicator internally and externally with suppliers and customers
- Good analytical decision making and independent problem solving skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and work under pressure
- Results oriented and self driven
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Some domestically or internationally travels are required
