职位描述
BASIC FUNCTION:
Significantly improve the cost and value of the targeted commodities procured by the assigned Business Group by leveraging across the corporation and consolidating the corporation’s requirements into Preferred Suppliers and Components.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global industry activity through close working relationships with preferred suppliers, trade organizations, and self-education.
2. Develop and benchmark best practices among the Divisions suppliers and maintain accurate measurements and records for evaluation of suppliers.
3. Participate with a cross-functional Electronic Component/EMS Commodity Team in developing a comprehensive commodity strategy for review and approval with Emerson Senior Management. This review will include:
4. Understanding the needs and objectives of the Business Group/divisions.
5. Establishing commodity objectives and timetables.
6. Evaluating and selecting preferred sources
7. Identify, coordinate, and track implementation of e-sourcing events.
8. Completing contract negotiations and quantifying benefits.
9. Establish and implement, with Divisional input, clear strategic plans for sourcing/pricing requirements from Preferred Suppliers.
10. Understand and confirm each Division’s engineering, quality, marketing, procurement and manufacturing requirements and expectations.
11. Oversee the development, maintainance and implementation of a supplier transition plan which maps the consolidation process for each Division.
12. Participate with each Division’s development of a Technology Roadmap.
13. Understand, insure accuracy and set expectations for the commodities reported in Divisional inflation models.
14. Assume a leadership role in developing strong supplier relationships (one Emerson voice) that includes such things as:
15. Supplier performance
16. Develop supplier plans / goals that drive continuous improvement
17. Emerson pricing issues
18. Technology development
19. Global deployment
EDUCATION
1. Degree in engineering, business, materials, logistics, or related subject.
2. MBA, C.P.M., and CPIM considered a plus.
EXPERIENCE
1. Three to five years experience in manufacturing or related discipline. Experience in EMS / Electronics industry required.
2. Ability to communicate with all levels and functions of suppliers and divisions.
3. Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business data and practices. Competence in Excel, Access and web-based analytical tools required.
4. Organizational and team building skills to lead cross functional, global commodity teams.
5. Requires extensive (>25%) travel to suppliers and divisions. Will require some international travel.
