GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Customer Communication
– Monitors customer web sites and data
– At least monthly communication (visits) of quality status for current and future products and services for all major customers
– Strategically targets customer quality awards as recognition for being industry benchmark
? Deployment of the Tower - APQP process
–Include all APQP steps in the Program Management process
–Teach multidiscipline teams on the APQP techniques
–Demonstrate the concept by coaching an APQP team on the process
–Participate in / conduct program and change readiness reviews on a regular basis. Audit status reports
–Foster design for quality (product and process) thinking
? Quality system & Audits: (customers, corporate, certification bodies)
- Achieve standardization of processes within Business Units and Component Groups
- Assist facilities to implement the Federal-Mogul Operation System and Quality System
- Attain / maintain TS 16949 registration and required Customer certification
- Coordinate and oversee audit plan for each facility, and provide monthly status reports
- Implement and maintain Layered Process Audits, participate in audits
? Concern resolution and continual improvement:
–Regional champion, auditor–Paretorize quarterly and address systemic root causes and errors
–Maintain lessons learned system with BUs/CGs
–Assess training needs of personnel on using FM-TiPS and provide training
–Maintain the focus until full implementation of corrective and improvement actions
–Assess solution effectiveness and report resolution to customer
– Conduct Warranty Reduction Program & Potential Liabilities Review
? Manage the Quality Learning Process
– Define quality skills requirements for personal on all levels of the organization
– Perform skills assessment and needs analysis (TS, Commercialization Process, APQP, FMEA, CPC, MSA, Statistics, DOE, …)
– Perform class room teaching and training the participants on quality tools (“what” and “how”)
– Outsource the training activities where applicable. Qualify training programs and trainers
–Hands on application of the quality tool on the shop floor
? Participate on the Quality Steering Committee (Quality Excellence Committee)
- Provide corporate direction for quality within Tower China
- Develop, deploy, maintain and audit the metric reporting system
- Contract with Tower approved quality system registrars
- Develop corporate quality training/learning process for Tower China
- Participate with the ISO 14001 efforts
– Maintain and improve the Quality Databases (e.g., QMIS)
? Acquisitions, divestitures, facility start-up and closure
- Provide quality contact to customers, facilitate approval process, continuously maintain customer data bases and web sites current
- Lead all quality related internal activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? BS equivalent preferably in a technical field.
? At least 8 years of industry experience in quality, product or process engineering, program management, plant.
? In depth / hands on knowledge of international automotive quality requirements (ISO 16949, APQP)
? Fulent English.
