Position Responsibilities: Lead a team of applications engineers in development of Hydraulic Steering Gears to grow market share and enhance profitability. Win steering system applications at leading OEMs in China.
? Provide leadership to a team of engineers and technicians
? Foster an environment of technical engagement globally, leverage resources to efficiently develop new applications
? Propose product technologies for strategic positioning of the products in the regional market
? Working with global team, train and coach local Engineering team
? Work with customers to develop steering gear systems for various applications, including definition of the application environment, assure applications are robust to the vehicle operating environment.
? Lead design reviews using cross functional teams
? Assure that product engineering project and program milestones are achieved
? Assure various prototypes are constructed, tested, shipped to OEMs per the project plan
? Recommend pertinent test lab investment to assure state of the art validation tools are available.
? Develop and manage a budget, both functional and project based.
? Define and execute product cost reduction and warranty improvement projects including low cost country sourcing where appropriate.

General Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required and an advanced degree preferred

Experience: Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
Minimum 5 years of product design experience
Prior technical leadership experience
Automotive Engineering
