Position Summary:

The Senior Application Engineer of silos and bulk grain storage is responsible for the application of GSI bulk grain storage and handling product, cooperate with sale for technical issue, erection instruction, on field quality control, criteria and code interpretations, existing product design modification and new product development.

Responsibilities:

? Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with clients, co-workers and management.
? Direct drafters, designers and other engineers to complete preliminary project design and detailed product design.
? Full understand customers’ requirement, responsible for preparing system and layout design of project, equipment configuration and selection.
? Fully understand GSI steel silo & accessories functions and application requirements.
? Proactively communicate any concerns, problems, or technical decisions that impact the project (i.e. layouts, budget, and other disciplines).
? Review and interpret geotechnical reports and provide silo foundation recommendation.
? Collect all necessary engineering information and dimensions.(Silo type, storage size and accessory…)
? Support field project management, silo installation instruction and supervision.
? Document and maintain all communication that impacts technical decisions. Offer finish goods BOM for design engineer to prepare MFG BOM.
? Check work received from Designers/Drafters for correctness and quality.
? Ensure all engineering tasks are on budget and on schedule.
? Assist production engineer on product fabrication, training related persons.
? Support sales manager or dealers on solving any kinds of products and engineering problems.
? Coordinate with Global Product manager for design of products and specifications.

Qualifications:

? A bachelor or master degree of Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
? Graduate from 211 university or grain related major
? Specialized engineering background in bulk material mechanical properties, flow characteristics of bulk materials in the silos and silo structural design theories.
? Well understanding of material handling principle, equipment functions and operation, silo aeration and dust control systems.
? Experience with the design of steel and concrete, structural analysis tools such as RISA-3D as well as performing hand calculations.
? Experience with seismic design in high seismic areas.
? Experience with construction site management and silo erection.
? Well know China engineering codes and general understanding of IBC, UBC, and AISC
? Strong English reading, writing and oral communication skills.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office application, AutoCAD or other drafting software, ProE experience is preferred.
? A registered or licensed engineer.
? Minimum 8 years of work experience in silo and bulk material handling facility design and 12 years grain/storage or processing industries experience.
