Advanced Specialist E-Drive Subsystem

Employment – full time

Tasks

- Development and integration of the e-Drive subsystem, which includes components like Power Electronics Unit (PEU), On-Board Charger (OBC) and Electric Motor (EM)

- Require strong COC-support for testing/calibration of the Powertrain

- Failure analysis and problem management within an assigned Powertrain/vehicle project

- Further responsibility of the position is focused on preparation and execution of homologation component tests in cooperation with Chinese authorities

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation of the components for testing and calibration of the Powertrain system locally conducted in China, including providing of modification instructions for electric system of the vehicle and of appropriate SW according to the project development progress

- Local parameterization / calibration of PEU/EM functions on component level for defined own labels (parameters in the label database) in accordance to instructions of the COC

- Assuring the compatibility of the PEU/EM calibration with the Chinese domestic customer requirements in accordance to the COC, responsible for the functions and the labels

- Assuring the correct function of the components during vehicle testing events in China incl. winter and summer test. Executing of countermeasures taking own responsibility or if necessary according to instructions of the COC, when problems occur

- Participating in the problem management process focused PEU and OBC within the testing activities in China: fault analysis, documentation (e.g. with CAN traces and measurements), addressing to the problem manager or COC; tracking of problems until the solution or the closure is confirmed

- Alignment with the relevant stakeholders of the project, like component lead engineers, function development engineers, vehicle testing specialists, homologation specialists and interfacing component specialists

- Coordination of external service partners / suppliers

- Coordination of support staff

- Preparation of the components PEU, EM and OBC for the homologation tests according to the requirements of Chinese authorities, including definition of the test procedure and test set-up in accordance to the responsible COCs (technical and homologation) and the test lab in China

- Support of the homologation test execution at assigned test lab including component/ subsystem commissioning and operation according to the defined test procedure. I necessary problem analysis and solution support according to instructions of the COC

Qualifications

- Electrical engineering or similar background (M.Sc.)

- Good understanding in control engineering and Mat lab/Simulink

- Automotive software calibration and vehicle bus data analysis tool knowledge

- Experience in testing, validation and calibration (test bench and vehicle)

- Knowledge in Electric Motors and Power Electronic Components

- Good communication skills

- Fluent in Chinese and English language

- Optional: German language skills

- Act independently and on one’s own initiative

- Analytic and working method, also during work under pressure

- Willingness to travelling inside China and trips to Munich

- Working experience as engineer in testing, validation and function/software calibration, 1-3 years

- Working experience in the automotive development for Powertrain or vehicle electronics, 1-3 years

- Working experience with simulation and measurement systems, 1-3 years

- Optional working experience with high voltage systems like HV batteries and E-motors, electric energy converters and bus communication, 1-3 years
