Senior Specialist Tool Design &CAD

Corporate Division Prototype Production

Division, located in Shenyang/China
Employment – full time

Tasks

- The design process within prototype productions contains the areas prototype, cubing, camouflage and jigs

- Main task is the design and development of parts and/or assemblies as well as the digitalization and surface development of cars

- The development is based on current used CAX-programs (CATIA V5) and contains the development of design surfaces, free formed surfaces, 3D bodies and kinematic models. During the development process the engineer is in close discussions with all relevant process partners

- The engineer creates a bill of material for his development tasks and handles the on time releases which are needed for the manufacturing. This function is part of Plant 0

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze requirements of the customer

- Deriving and alignment of concepts

- Define interfaces to internal and external business partners

- Development of concepts for installations

- Development of parts, assemblies, jigs, fixtures, installations, cubing, etc. (2D/3D)

- Ensuring that concepts match with the requirements of manufacturing and development guidelines

- Project management: Alignment with business partners, Preparation of documents, presentations, time schedules etc.

Qualifications

- Bachelor/ master degree in mechanical or automotive engineering with very good theoretical background and qualification acquired in a similar position

- Knowledge of project management

- Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g. CATIA V5)

- Ability to take leading meetings, workshops

- Ability to work independently and take on personal responsibility

- Knowledge of all processes of vehicle production, especially in prototypes

- Proficient English

- Ability/experience in working with an intercultural work environment

- Quality consciousness

- Taking responsibilities, self-responsible

- Practical skills, self-initiative, improvisation skills

- Open-mindedness in dealing with others

- Understanding for complex coherences

- Background in working in an automotive plant preferably in control areas or project management functions, 4-6 years

- Preferably working experience in international operating companies, 1-3 years
