Advanced Specialist Chemistry and Process Materials

Tasks
-Chemical & Process Specialist,to control the quality of all Chemicals and Process materials used in the plants
- Support for the problem solving process

Key Responsibility
- Chemical analysis and evaluation for different kinds of chemical and process raw materials:
- Pretreatment,e-coat,base coat,clear coat and solvents
- Sealers,adhesives,sound deadener and wax
- Chemicals,consumables,lubricants and cleaners
- Environmental related analysis
- Responsible for initial release and batch release for process materials and painted parts:
- Technical release of chemicals,process materials
- Qualification including color and function for supplier parts
- Material line trials
- Batch release
- E-coat and paint compatibility of all materials related to production processes
- Support and control of the related processes such as:
- Functional check of coatings
- Color audits on parts and bodies
- Internal body audits(Wax,E-coat,Foam Part and Sealer)Functional tests of sealers/PVC material
- Supplier parts verification
- Pretreatment bath control of AC line and PS line
- Responsible for supplier qualification and process/product audits
- Process material supplier management
- Support part supplier management
- Problem solving process,failure analysis and implementation of solutions
- Independent analysis and interpretation of test results including the Documentation,reporting and proposing recommendations
- Documentation of results and initiation of corrective actions if results are not ok
- Contact person for BMW Group/TP-5 working group chemistry and process; Ensuring that tests are realized according to BMW and ISO conform specifications and guidelines
- Responsible/contact person to initialize and co-ordinate the ZEUS release(chemical release) in JV China
- Initialize and responsible for the interior emission whole vehicle test,results analysis and evaluation
- Responsible for testing equipment management
- Purchase of lab equipment and consumables
- Maintenance and calibration
- Coordination with equipment supplier
- Lab alignment with lab in Munich,suppliers and external institutions
- ISO 9001
- ISO 14001

Qualification
- Bachelor degree or above,major in chemistry or material science
- Background in analytical and paint chemistry
- Experience with paint and process materials
- Experience with consumables/petrol/oils solvents,etc
- Knowledge of color measurement and evaluation of surfaces (X-rite,gloss,etc)Knowledge on testing and evaluation regarding corrosion
- Knowledge of analytical methods (FTIR,GC/MS,ICP)
- Knowledge of (international)standards and test methods,e.g.ASTM,ISO
- Knowledge and understanding of quality system principles
- Several years experience in quality/lab functions/analytical lab/chemical industry
- Experience in paint technology and industry
- Knowledge of automotive industry and/or supplier
