-From our IC Sector, Smart Grid division, we are looking for a communication engineer in Shanghai.
-Present function will be located in Communication Network Solutions group, which is part of newly formed Smard Grid Unit within Siemens Division Infrastructure and Cities. Smart Grid communication is one of the key enablers to interlink Energy equipment such as RTU’s and intelligent Meters between each other and with a central administration center. A Smart Grid communication network will base on all present communication technologies such as SDH, IP, Powerline communication, Wireless communication.
Mission / Goal:
-Smart Grid Communication engnieering – solution engineer,technical sales and engineering group acts as partner of SGA-CN sales units, project management, Service. Furthermore Technical Sales supports other Energy and Industry units, which require communication solutions in their networks. Technical Sales forms part within the complete sales process and provides optimized communication solution within Smart Grid Energy networks.
In detail CNS Technical Sales/Engineering fulfills the following tasks
- Technical consulting， Smart Grid Consulting
- Business Development of Smart Grid communication solutions for the Chinese market
- On Site presentations of Smart Grid communication networks
- Technical sales support within the complete sales process
- Project Management
Working partners / Contacts:
- Internal: report to CNS solution team lead, SG Sales, Project management and service, product management- External: CNS equipment provider such as ECI,Nokia Siemens Network and Huawei, customers and consultants
What are my responsibilities?
- Develop Smart Grid communication solutions with focus on wireline communication (SDH, IP, Powerline communication)
- Interact with Energy automation and Smart Grid Applications to ensure interoperability
- Present solutions to customers, sales staff and other Energy units
- Contribution to CNS tender process
- Smart Grid Project delivery and project management
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor or university degree (including FH) in communication technology
- Experience and knowhow in wireline communication technologies (SDH, IP, Powerline)
- Knowledge in Wireless technologies will be beneficial
- CCNA-Design certification will be beneficial
- Fluent in English language (speaking, writing); German beneficial
- Basic knowledge in Power Industry with focus on HV and MV power transmission, LV distribution networks will be beneficial
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in designing communication networks and communication solution development for Telco’s and Energy utilities. .
- Having done this for power utilities will be beneficial. Experience in working with NSN, ECI,Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, RuggedCom or Alcatel, Fiberhome, ZTE and other communication equipment providers.
