The Big Data Solution Architect will be responsible for the technical architecture and design for Accenture Customer. The Big Data Solution Architect will work with the Big Data Client Success Lead to finalize the technical requirements; implement Big Data Proof of Concept and Benchmark projects and as a architect to field project.

This role is a resource with deep technical design and development expertise with experience in the Big Data space. This person should have hands on development experience in some of the technologies including - Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Zookeeper technologies. This person has solid skills in Java, C++, Python, Unix script development and has a good understanding of working with MapR or map reduced type programming. This role is a hands on technical expert and has experience in working with large delivery teams delivering complex projects.

Candidate have experience in a solution architecture & development role in some kind of large scale database technologies is high plus, including but not limited to; Greenplum, Oracle, Teradata.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes participating in pre-sales on-site visits, understanding customer requirements, creating consulting proposals and creating packaged Big Data service offerings.
• This position requires both broad and deep knowledge of Big Data, data warehousing and computer technology
• Build or choose open source tools to help other engineers access complex data more efficiently
• Experienced client facing consultant with strong ability to get requirements and translate to specifications
• Strong ability to manage project scope, mitigate risk and drive to project completion

Desired Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years developing production software with previous experience working on a large-scale distributed system
• At least 5 years of applications development and architecture utilizing the following: Java, C, C++, C#, Perl, PHP, Python, UNIX shell, SQL, HTML, etc...
• Prior experience architecting a Big Data Solution, at least 2 years of experience using big data systems and/or using big data for data analysis
• Solid understanding of distributed system concepts used in scaling big data technologies with exponential growth of data and speeding up queries.
• In-depth understanding of inner workings of one or more of the big data technologies like (but not limited to) Hadoop/Mapreduce, Hbase, Hive, Zookeeper
• Knowledge of cluster and parallel processing architectures (particularly on Linux, Blades, x86 and Linux on pSeries...knowledge of network processing and capacity)
• Experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and mathematics
• Experience in Data Modeling, Analytics and mining
• Excellent communication skills, initiative, and teamwork
• Bachelors or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related discipline (MS or PhD a plus)
