Visceral Games is the new home for Action game development across all of Electronic Arts. Visceral is focused on developing the next generation of action games with state-of-the-art technology, visuals, and audio that provide deep immersive gaming experiences.
Working in a collaborative environment, the Shanghai, Redwood Shores, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Melbourne studios make up the Visceral Games group. Visceral Games Shanghai provides integrated development support, specializing in art production. The studio has worked with other Visceral Game studios in co-developing top titles like Dead Space, Dead Space 2, Dante’s Inferno, a number of as yet unannounced titles.
Visceral Games Shanghai is seeking an exceptionally creative, highly motivated individual, with tremendous communication skills to become a designer & level builder for Visceral Games Shanghai studio.

Description:
The Concept Artist will work closely with the Lead Artist and/or Art Director and will have a significant role in establishing and maintaining the look of the project for various studios and platforms. The Concept Artist should possess the ability to set forth the studio’s vision and create imagery that will communicate the visual experience and help blueprint all the aspects of the game for content authoring. The Concept Artist should have a deep understanding of composition and color, the ability to render exciting designs, and a strong sense of vision for conceptual art.

Requirements:
-A deep understanding and enthusiasm for all aspects of realistic and stylized conceptual art, such as: characters, environments, mechanical objects, props, etc
-Excellent drawing and painting skills in both traditional and digital formats
-Creative, adaptable and flexible art style with attention to aesthetic detail
-Ability to convey a message through visual presentation
-Proficiency in Photoshop or Painter
-Well versed in principles of color theory and lighting
-Experience with rapid-iteration of drawings and paintings
-Familiar with western culture
-Detail oriented, organized and able to meet project requirements

Desirable Skills:
-Strong ability to deliver stunning landscape paintings
-Have a comprehensive understanding of western architecture, especially from the American West Coast area of Californian
-Accurately portray luxury and exotic cars – this is not so important but a certain ability will be required
-Have an ability to think creatively and independently
-Provide fast rough sketches as well as fully rendered final images
-Familiarity with 3d software
-A resume and portfolio that reflects the skills and abilities above
-Passion for games
-Strong technical and communication skills
-Excellent conceptual, illustration and design skills
-Detail oriented, organized and able to meet project requirements
-Solid understanding of asset management practices
-Good aptitude for problem solving and self-starting with the ability to work with minimal direction
