Manage activities related to quality performance / initiatives and requirements at the customer Act as focal contact for quality related issues and concerns for the assigned account.
Manage the assigned customer’s overall perception of WD quality.
Develop and drive a continuous improvement plan to exceed customer’s expectations.
Develop effective working relationships with customers.
Review factory data on a daily basis and develop the necessary plan to protect the customers from any quality excursion.
Work with customer factory personnel to reduce line failure rate.
Monitor customer line and field quality data.
Responsible for developing and driving the necessary actions to ensure best-in-class performance.
Coordinate and provide periodic reports to WD internal team of WD drive / QBR performance.
Operate and maintain WD approved quality system.
Provide factory performance and quality data as required by the customer.
Lead the FA sample selection process to ensure that a representative sample of the top three pareto items is returned to WD for root cause analysis.
Provide continuous feedback on product quality to the program teams.
Participate in developing corporate strategies for improved quality.
Support and execute departmental tasks as assigned by management.
Lead group of engineers in daily activities.

B.S. + 8 years related experience, or M.S. + 6 years related experience, or PhD + 4 years of related experience
Experience in quality applications, manufacturing, failure analysis and statistical applications.
Knowledge of electro-static discharge prevention policy and procedures.
HDD integration processes at OEM/ODM manufacturing sites.
Knowledge of 3.5” and 2.5” HDD’s as it relates to PC, Servers, and CE applications.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques and related hardware/software; hard disk drives, statistical sampling and analysis, quality applications, and the standard and specialized tools and equipment used in the job.
Good understanding of the practical implications of this role on operations.
Has broad knowledge of general business operations.
Knows individual and project goals.
Extensive experience in managing customers.
Management experience is strongly required.
Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve critical issues and situations.
Must be able to take on projects from inception to completion.
