Critical Job Elements:

§ This engineer will be responsible for mechanical design and sustaining of products for the telecom market. Products include ATCA, COMe and RMS(rack-mount server).

§ The key role for this person as a Mechanical Engineer is to be an individual contributor for an engineering design team. Provide significant contribution to product design while taking direction from lead engineer.

§ He/She will closely work with the Hardware engineering team to define individual design elements and design specifications based on product requirements.

§ He/She will collaborate with remote engineering teams in design and execution of the subject systems to ensure consistent, cost effective design approaches.

§ He/She will ensure conformance to all applicable industry standards and best practices for the areas in his/her responsibility.

§ As a Mechanical Engineer in a team environment, this person will also be contribution to help develop validation plans and execute said plans.

Qualifications:

§ BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience is required.

§ At least 3 years designing mechanical assemblies and components (stiffeners, heatsinks, drive mounting brackets, faceplates, etc.) for the telecom or computing market is required.

§ Experience with Pro-Engineer CAD software is required. Flotherm thermal simulation software experience and thermal verification is plus

§ Experience with ERP system (e.g. Agile) is desired.

§ Understanding manufacturing processes well and troubleshoot capability (sheet metal fabrication, machining, casting, extrusion, finishing, etc.) , tolerance stack up analysis capability is needed.

§ Good working knowledge of EMC containment theory and practical solutions is required. Knowledge of telecom and computer related standards such as GR63 and UL60950 are desired.

§ Must be self-motivated, team oriented, accountable, innovative and able to work independently with little or direction.

§ Must have ability to work smoothly with the entire organization across multiple functional engineers, especially engineering and marketing teams and the ability to cooperate with across multiple International sites in Asia and the United States.

§ Good communication & presentation skills both in English and Mandarin are required. This includes writing specifications, test plans and reports in English.

§ Ability to travel freely within China is required.
