HSE Manager
Report to: Operation Director
Job Summary:
- To manage and direct project personnel to achieve defined project safety objectives in a way that fosters repeat business with each client and maintains positive relationships with contractors.
Key duties/responsibilities:
- Develop process safety management strategy with improvement on process safety standard, tools, programs, training and work processes in a systematic approach, facilitate the implementation of process safety management system.
- Assessing safe systems of work and Health and Safety documentation. Work within local authority.
- Responsible for safety inspections and audits of client’s sites executing on relevant Health and Safety Legislation. Providing on site induction training and toolbox talks.
- Work with site to develop and implement a safety out plan for process risk assessment for existing processes and site projects.
- Provide process safety consulting support and recommend optimal solutions to the project, operation and business teams in execution of process safety requirements and to ensure compliance with local regulation requirement.
- Conduct compliance audit to sites on process safety management, either as a dedicated process safety audit or as joint HSESHE management audit with other HSESHE (Safety, Health, Safety and Environment) professional. Identify the common process safety issue across the sites and development improvement plan.
- Managing on-site activities in a pro-active and consultative manner to minimize the number of lost time days.
- Inspecting on-site works on a regular basis to ensure that safe work procedures are adhered to and assisting supervisory personnel in the development of solutions to daily site inspection requirements.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work site including conducting inductions, safety walks, safety meetings and setting up safety committee meetings and performing internal site safety audits.
- Arrange and provide training course; implement internal safety practices
- Coordinate and supervise safety management for company
Requirement/Qualification:
- College or Bachelor degree in engineering or construction
- At least 5 years total work experiences, at least 3 years work experiences in construction safety supervision . Preferable with foreign project experience in China.
- Possess Certified Safety Engineer License and familiar with Safety Qualification System
- Proficient knowledge of International occupational safety standards mandatory
- Good command of English both in writing and speaking;
- Team player, but working independently with focus on result and achievement;
- Skilled and experience in relevant software/tools like MS Projects, MS Office
- Strong communication skills and conflict-handling skills.
- Able to travel extensively
