EH&S MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the enforcement and implementation of the safety, health and environmental policies and procedures of the company, the corporation and the government. Assists in establishing the EH&S management system so that employees are injury free and have a level degree of consciousness about safety and environmental issues. Coordinates control of hazards to ensure hazard minimization and regulatory compliance.
2. Leading the company in achieving a sustainable safety culture through effective implementation of the EH&S system which is focused on risk and incident reduction, compliance, case management and safety system effectiveness (i.e., risk assessment, coaching incident investigation, line audit, and training processes)
3. Ensuring compliance with local environmental, safety & health regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.
4. Providing functional knowledge of local and company EH&S regulations and industry standards (i.e.: record keeping, confined space, energy isolation, machine safeguarding, powered industrial trucks, electrical safety, hazardous communications, and industrial hygiene monitoring.
5. Engaging the company strategic and operating plans to ensure environmental and safety compliance while improving overall operating results.
6. Providing functional knowledge and experience in supporting air and wastewater permitting, compliance, waste management and energy saving.
7. Interacting effectively with all levels of the organization (internal and external).
8. Providing urgent response to operational issues 24/7 which includes environmental upset conditions and case management of safety incidents.
9. Providing leadership and project management for specific projects, initiatives, and business processes needed to drive environmental and safety performance.
10. Developing and managing budgets for safety and environmental activities including; safety supplies, safety recognition, consulting and testing.
11. Ensures the requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 are established, implemented and maintained.
12. Identifies, facilitates and/or provides annual EH&S training needs and programs for all employees to ensure full compliance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management or closely related field
- 6-8 years demonstrated EH&S management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management and team facilitation skills
- Excellent communications (Written and spoken English and Chinese)
- Certification of Safety officer
