General purpose of position:

-Assembly, test and evaluation of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.

Description of duties and responsibilities:

-Develop and execute detailed test procedures, manual or automatic designed to validate systems

-Work closely with Engineers to test and evaluate new designs.

-Execute design of experiments and system test procedures, as required.

-Develop tests that exercise new features.

-Works with modules and systems associated with prototype products.

-Fabricate simple and complex prototype parts.

-Will be responsible for scheduling, running and documenting experiments on prototype and production equipment to determine equipment parameters to achieve customer specifications on process requirements.

-Actively participate in design reviews.

-Track problems and solutions using in-house tools, devise workarounds if possible.

-Troubleshoot, test and verify mechanical and electrical systems.

-Will learn, understand, and use the BTU ERP system

-Strictly adhere to all BTU safety policies.

Skills and abilities needed for this position:

-Strong communication skills. Able to work with customers as well as internal staff to understand and communicate technical issues.

-Ability to drive projects in the lab and on manufacturing floor.

-Good analytical abilities. Strong conceptual and problem solving skills.

-Good team player but able to work on own initiative.

-Attention to details and a systematic approach to planning and testing.

-Ability to troubleshoot electrical / electronic and electromechanical circuits.

-Adhere strictly to all BTU safety policies.

Education and training needed for this position:

-Associates Degree in either Mechanical or Electronic Engineering preferred.

-Vocational or technical education or military school, or equivalent training and experience required.

-3-5 years of test experience with industrial equipment and control systems.

-Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office experience.
