Job brief
The Westin Bund Center Shanghai is looking for a Chinese restaurant chef. The chef has to be very good in Cantonese/Sichuan food and potentially other regional specialty. Additionally he has to have good dim sum knowledge. The job is a hand' on job and the person is expected to cook on regular base authentic tasting, innovative and creative food for high profile clientele and the owners. Salary is negotiable and depending on experience. The candidate must be willing to go the extra mile; he has to be very customer orientated and flexible in regards to special requests. The candidate has to be able to interact and communicate with clients, media and staff. The candidate has to have a test cooking prior to being appointed.
Must be flexible in his work and able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
Must be flexible in terms of working hours.
Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and must be physically fit.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
Must be a good team player who is able to liaise with management and team members.
Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in 5 star hotel or a related field (high profile restaurant) in the role of Chinese Executive chef with proven track record.
Has to be able to communicate with team members and guests in a professional way.
Should have basic computer knowledge and able to use outlook, internet, word, excel and willing to learn new programs.
Must be a effective listener to understand required job, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by Team members.
While working in this hotel media exposure can be very high and you have the possibility to build yourself a platform to be recognized internationally.
Good expat remuneration with housing allowance, medical coverage, annual flight.


The position is open immediately. Only for Hong Kong, Malaysian, Singaporean & Chinese Citizens (Expat package or Local Expat package) -must be Mandarin speaker and worked for minimum of 2 years on the Chinese mainland.
