Title: Internal Communications Manager
Report to: Communications Director (US)
Location: perfer Shanghai, then Shenzhen, then HK

Responsibilities:
The Internal Communications Manager, working with the Director of Communications, is responsible for the development, ownership and implementation of the internal communications strategy and delivery of Internal Communications campaigns to ensure an informed and engaged workforce across Laird’s global operations. Provides communications advice and support across the business that will help employees understand and embrace key business objectives, and develops feedback mechanisms to ensure efficient and effective two-way communications within Laird.

• Develop and own Laird’s Internal Communications (IC) strategy and programme aligned to business objectives
• Design and implement creative comms programmes and activities that help generate understanding of business priorities, support cross-site and Business Unit (BU) collaboration and increase employee alignment and commitment to Laird
• Develop and maintain two-way internal comms channels and processes in line with a Laird Comms Framework, working closely with Business Partners (BP) and Shared Services (SS) for development and application throughout Laird
• Build and manage (with the Comms & Marketing Business Partners) an indirect network of site contributors to help identify Internal Comms (IC) issues / messages, to deliver tactical IC campaigns and activities, to measure feedback and message effectiveness, and to ensure appropriate plans and actions are in place to reinforce as necessary
• Develop and deliver integrated and cohesive IC plans to increase collaboration and coordination of activities between and across China sites
• Support the change management and transformation plans aimed at all internal stakeholders and target audiences
• Develop and implement suitable 360° feedback and “interaction” channels and mechanisms to enable all employees to raise issues, ideas and suggestions.
• Provide IC message and internal campaign delivery and consultancy to the businesses
• Ensure all employee comms is consistent with Laird brand guidelines in terms of approach, message, consistency and delivery
• Build deep cross-business relationships to ensure understanding of business activity, identify key priorities and drive an integrated approach to all comms activity, working particularly closely with the HR community.
• Serve as consultant, advisor and facilitator to support all IC requirements for Laird and its Businesses
• Identify target audiences (and their comms delivery challenges), planning and delivering clear comms messages to the identified audiences in an effective, efficient and affordable manner
• Ensure the plan’s implementation by using the communications shared services wherever necessary and appropriate
• Measure the impact and efficiency of communications actions to develop and implement continuous improvement plans

Requirements:

• Able to develop, maintain and communicate (within the comms team and stakeholders) an integrated internal comms plan across multiple sites and segments
• Possess strong interpersonal and project management skills
• Able to operate at all levels within organisations and functions
• Ability to interface effectively with senior management and other business partners
• Able to write and deliver comms messages across multiple channels (appropriate to the target audience) in an accurate and timely manner, actively seeking feedback, understanding and message retention
• Share plans and activities, and coordinate delivery and consistent messages across sites, and BUs
• Possess well-developed strategy development and planning skills
• Able to deliver projects on time and within budget

Education/Experience

• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years professional experience in Internal Comms or related comms fields
