Responsibilities:

Provide top quartile workflow consultancy focused on end-user productivity improvements and technology uptake in the Production Geoscience community.
Support, maintain and deploy the 3D modeling application, Petrel; associated Shell proprietary applications, middleware and other 3rd party applications including Petra and OpenSpirit. Duties include providing pro-active content support as well as managing and resolving user support requests and supporting the deployment of new functionality in a highly complex environment.
Improve user efficiency and promote the use of new technology.
Deliver innovative and creative answers for unconventional and conventional assets in a solutions space that touches upon many other disciplines including Petrophysics, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering and Geomatics.
Additional responsibilities include:
Deployment of global standard workflows by undertaking quality assurance and testing activities on new and changed applications and co-coordinating and providing training within the stakeholder community.
The successful candidate will acquire and maintain a good understanding of the applications, data and databases, interfaces and infrastructure in the assigned workflows and the most common/repetitive issues experienced by business users.
Provide proactive support for the production geoscience tool suite.
Excellent communication skills are required to promote new workflows and new functionality in and around Petrel.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate in a complex organization with the right level of technical expertise. This includes engagement with the Production Geosciene discipline leadership in addition to the users and technical and comptetitive I.T. management.
Excellent customer service skills are also required to ensure a high level of user satisfaction.
This position offers exposure to a wide range of different projects and visibility to senior stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the desire to succeed in a fast-paced energetic environment.

Requirements:

This position requires a degreed Geoscientist with sound exploration, production and IT (5 years minimum) experience including geological modeling software (Petrel, or similar software) and related tools, and knowledge of associated disciplines and workflows.
Master's Degree a plus.
