As people manager to manage a small group of Data Scientist who will focus on Big Data on eBay Marketplace.

Researching, modeling and analyzing eBay's big data for the improvement of buyer experience, mobile experience and vertical shopping experience etc. Support product team to build the data product that is actionable for eBay's business improvement in eBay big data related domains.

• Support data scientist within the team to leverage data mining, machine learning teachniqutes to help product team to dig out nugets from huge volume data from transaction and user behavior.
• Designs and develops solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
• Implement proof-of-concept prototypes for data collection, analysis, and presentation.
• Implement new data product initiatives, assist product manager with definition of product direction and validation.
• Code, troubleshoot, and debug complex, multi-tier distributed analytics applications on eBay platform.

• Proven records of the data science and data product practical experience is required.
• PHD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent academic record is required.
• Hands on experience of applying various modeling algorithms, data mining tools, data analysis tools, and statistical packages.
• Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with a team of product managers, business analyst and developers to achieve a shared goal.
• Experience on Hadoop, Data Warehouse (DWH) and statistical tools like R, SPSS.
• Attention to details and data accuracy.
• Experience on eCommerce or mobile industry is a plus.
