Job Responsibilities:
? Quality Steward to support outsourcing polyester manufacturing:
Manage and administer customer and supplier specification under guidance from R&D. Maintain records.
Act as a technical assistant to our outsourced suppliers by helping maintain quality control. Monitoring the quality of suppliers.
Assist Product Development Engineers in troubleshooting quality problems with suppliers.
Develop key data summary and messages for annual product review with suppliers.
? Technical Assistance to Operations
Develop effective working relationship with polyester fiber suppliers in China.
Help monitor, test, evaluate product coming from our outsourced suppliers in China.
End-Use-Testing
Key contributor to developing competitive articles for the top-of-bed market in China. Help develop articles (pillows, pads, comforters, etc.) associated with polyester fiberfill.
Test articles for competitive end-use value for China and other Asia Pacific markets.
Run and maintain fiberfill testing in lab.
? Other responsibilities:
Support the business with the handling of customer product performance claims and conduct root cause analyses as appropriate.
Support business through end-use evaluations and assisting with new product introductions to market. Assist customers with fiberfill trials and bedding article samples.
Help business in evaluating competitive opportunities. Participate and support the development of new products and business opportunities.
Proactively identify and recommend new fibers and product opportunities.
Ensure all activities are conducted in full compliance with laws and regulations and company policies.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Some skills in negotiation.
Self-driven and ability to deliver results with limited supervision.
Job Requirements:
? At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing within the nonwoven, apparel, with quality management and/or process engineering experience.
? Ability to travel up to 35%.
? Good English speaking and written communication skills.
? Ability to work Excel spreadsheets
? Bachelor’s degree or higher in Technical, Engineering or related field.
Preferred Skills & Education:
? Experience with Six Sigma or similar statistical problem solving methodology.
? Experience with nonwoven or fiberfill production.
? At least 5 years of experience with polymer and fiber extrusion, along with spinning or yarn processing.
