Job Title: Sr. Firmware Engineer
Sub BU: LSP
Function: R&D
Location: Shanghai
Report to: R&D Manager
Job Summary :
The Sr. Firmware Engineer will be a core staff member of a research and development team at Tyco Center of
Excellence China to develop Scott Safety’s next generation gas detection products. The Sr. Firmware Engineer
will be responsible for architecting, design and implementing embedded software for gas detection products and
accessories.
Major Responsibilities：
Design, implement and test embedded software for gas detection products using embedded
C and RTOS
Develop embedded software for wireless communication modules and other accessories
Work with hardwire, software and test engineers to develop testing software to debug
systems designs.
Document and transfer developed software to manufacturing team for mass production
Provide technical support and improvement on developed software
Other manager assigned responsibilities
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Information Science and Technology, Software Engineering.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years experience in embedded software development for industry products.
Fluent in embedded C and RTOS programming on 8/16/32 PIC, MSP430, ARM microcontrollers.
Familiar with firmware architecture and programming of low power embedded systems.
Experience in low level device drivers for display, storage device, power management, USB and ethernet.
Track record of innovative design with products launched in market.
Experience in collaborating with manufacturing to develop high quality production processes.
Proficient with the English Language, with good verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of working effectively with global cross-functional team
Experience in applying Six Sigma tools to design solutions to meet both customer and manufacturing
requirements.
Experience in firmware development for wireless communication applications is a plus.
Good understanding of hardware, software and system design methodologies and processes for
measurement and sensing instruments is a plus.
