Position Summary
This role, working together with the lead generation agencies and Regional Operations Director, will support the business development activities for Percepta China and Asia Pacific.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development
Responsible for the acquisition of new business (clients) within the China and Asia Pacific Region as defined in the Business Development and Marketing Plan
Working with the marketing team to develop new products and services to support that growth.
Provide annual sales plans to support the strategy as defined in the regional Business Plan, sales and marketing plan
To lead the development of appropriate proposals and presentations to win new business
To generate leads from own sources and to manage the leads generated from the central marketing team
To build a network of contacts within associations and institutions that increase the awareness of Percepta in the market place
Represent Percepta at events and meetings and where required present at these events
Act as a consultant with existing and prospective clients, to build and develop solutions to their challenges and opportunities.
Client Interface Responsibilities
Pro-actively identifies and implements value-added initiatives for clients
Work to develop best practice in client management
Maintain a positive, customer-orientated attitude when interacting with clients and internal Percepta departments
Reporting Responsibilities:
Appraises the client, Business Development and Marketing Director and Regional Operations Director of developments related to the client’s programmes.
Appraises the Business Development and Marketing Director, Regional Operations Director and marketing team on market intelligence
Attend the team meetings review performance against the business plan
Update all client contact lists within the CRM application
Load all client materials onto the CRM application
Fiscal/Business Responsibilities:
Manages the preparation of contracts and negotiation of service level agreements and incentive metrics with the account management teams and finance
Other Responsibilities:
Manage special projects as assigned by regional New Business Development Director and Regional Operations Director
Experience
Sales Experience working with large organisations – min 3 years (not account management)
Significant Sales Experience gained in the Contact Centre industry or a similar service industry
Not essential to have automotive experience but understanding of how manufacturers work would be advantageous
Experience of working in an international organisation
Education
Degree or equivalent or relevant experience
Completed basic sales training courses as part of development so far
Skills
Influencing and negotiating at a senior level: This person will interact with Directors and Senior Managers in large organizations so will need the skills to be able to influence these people and be able to negotiate at this level.
Project Management and Consultancy: Able to manage alongside client and prospect management across multiple projects.
Communication: Able to clearly articulate Percepta’s services to prospects and also to be able to communicate to internal teams what is required to enable proposals and client documents to be writing
Business Acumen: To be able to lead the development of the financials elements within proposals working closely with the finance team.
Team Player / Independent work mix: Unlike most Business Development positions where the person works predominately on their own, the role requires you to also work with the Regional G&A teams to develop proposals, manage leads and implement new operations. So a good mix of being able to motivate themselves whilst on their own, but able to interact effectively with the other Percepta teams to get the desired result
Sales: Essential that the person has worked in service sales not just product sales so that they understand the complexity and timelines associated with this type of activity
Organisational skills and time management (as remote role with very little day to day contact from manager): Able to manage their day to day activity including booking of appointments, administration
Business writing skills. Ability to write briefs for client and agent interpretation – fluency in Word. Ability to understand, create and present financial proposals – reasonable fluency in Excel. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization – fluency in PowerPoint.
Ability to anticipate and recognize potential problems. Uses systematic approach to decision-making, especially when under pressure.
Able to provide leadership and demonstrate teamwork.
Dependable – completes assignments and meets commitments
Other
Able to travel throughout the China and Region with overnights. Reasonable travel to be assumed as part of the role
Excellent spoken & written English & Mandarin skills
Multi cultural awareness useful
