JOB PURPOSE
Manages supply and total cost of assigned category. Responsible for securing of supply, quality, performance and cost. Assures best in class procurement performance within assigned category and maintains consistency with the Company’s requirements for quality, delivery and reliability of source for items purchased.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Spend Management
？ Identifies and drives approval for alternate suppliers on an approved list.
？ Identifies and drives approval for alternate materials/processes
？ Defines strategy within assigned category
？ Implements procurement strategy within assigned category
？ Negotiates contracts and supply position with suppliers
？ Manages supplier relationships
？ Manages relationships with internal customers.
？ Responsible for certain classes of materials necessary for the efficient operation at plants, offices, or laboratories.
？ Recommends, evaluates and implements efficiency and quality improvements.
？ Monitors performance against goals, analyzes results, and initiates appropriate action for all purchasing within assigned category.


Business Process Management
？ Manages people or processes critical to the efficient functioning of the procure-to-pay process
？ Responsible for efficient operation within area of accountability
？ Identifies, sells, and implements business process improvements
？ Supports data and process requirements of department
？ Assists in integration of acquired companies.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
？ A minimum Bachelor Degree in chemical field and 5 years industry related experience
？ Experience with Oracle or any other ERP/MRP systems desired
？ Ability to handle Ambiguity – able to analyze situations and draw conclusions where all facts are not known. Makes decisions and takes quick action.
？ Business/Financial Acumen – knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices and trends affecting business and the organization. Awareness of strategies and tactics in the marketplace.
